Alhaji Dr. Aliko Dangote, President, Dangote Group
In its quest to double cement investment in Zambia to around $900 million, the Nigeria’s largest cement manufacturer, Dangote Cement Plc, is building a second cement plant in Zambia.

This development was made known by the Vice President of Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Sanni Dangote. According to him, Dangote Cement has already built one cement plant at a cost of $450 million in Masaiti, some 500 km (300 miles) north of Lusaka that is expected to produce 1.5 million tonnes of cement annually when it reaches full capacity by the end of this year.

In Alhaji Dangote’s own words: “The second cement plant is also in progress and it will soon come up for commissioning. It will be of the same capacity as the first one.”
