ENUGU ERSTWHILE COMMISSIONERS AND SPECIAL ADVISERS SCAMPER OUT OF THE COUNTRY

Barrister Sullivan Chime, Ersthwhile Enugu State Governor
Last week, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) quizzed Barrister Sullivan Chime’s mistress, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo, who was his Chief of Staff when he was the Enugu State Governor. Also quizzed was the current Enugu State Chairman of PDP who served as the Managing Director of the Enugu State Housing and Development Corporation, Chief Ikeje Asogwa. Sequel to this development, tension has gripped virtually all the commissioners and special advisers that worked for the former governor.

The best-selling and most sought after online business and political news publishers, Tectono Business Review, gathered that a good number of the commissioners and special advisers in the immediate past administration have already scampered out of the country in order to preclude possible arrest.

You may wonder why Barrister Sullivan Chime and his erstwhile aids are currently been investigated by the EFCC. It is owing to the fact that an Enugu-based legal practitioner and erstwhile National Auditor of the PDP, Barrister Ray Nnaji sent a petition to EFCC demanding for an investigation into the eight-year tenure of Barrister Chime, alleging that monumental fraud held sway in the state within the period.

In the same vein, another group, Save Enugu Group (SEG) sent a petition to the EFCC accusing the former governor of corruptly enriching himself. Members of the House of Assembly led by their Speaker, Hon. Eugene Odoh, equally at the eleventh hour of Chime’s administration commenced an impeachment move against the governor over alleged gross misconduct and embezzlement of fund.

It has become very graphical that the ongoing interrogation of Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo and Chief Ikeje Asogwa will usher in the invitation of the former governor, Barrister Sullivan Chime, by the EFCC.
