GOV. UGWUANYI AWARDS CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ROAD LEADING TO FR. MBAKA’S ADORATION GROUND

The governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has awarded contract for the construction of additional road located at Emene, a satellite town in Enugu, known as Orie-Emene-Adoration road to Cops Construction Company Limited.

According to statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Louis Amoke, which was made available to Tectono Business Review, the State Commissioner for information, Dr. Godwin Udeuhele, disclosed that the new road when completed will de-congest and enhance easy transportation in the area.

The statement further stated that the Information Commissioner said that the governor considered the road which leads to the popular Adoration Ministry praying ground owned by a very charismatic and fiery catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, due to its importance to Christian faithful and the inherent economic benefits to the state.

It further revealed that Governor Ugwuanyi, in a bid to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state, also appointed a private company, Bricks Data Limited, to generate revenue on landed property through geographic information system approach.

According to the statement, Dr. Udeuhele sated that the process would streamline the activities of revenue collection on landed property in the state and avoid the ugly incident of multiple payments of such fees, among others. He further disclosed that an inter-ministerial committee was equally set-up to review the terms of agreement with the company.

According to the statement, the commissioner also equally informed newsmen that Chief Ugwuanyi authorized the Ministry of Lands and Urban Development to enter into contract agreement with Digital Dream Limited for the upgrade of the State Land administration system for efficiency and revenue generation.
