DR. IFEANYI UBAH REITERATES HIS SUPPORT FOR IGBO UNITY

The Chairman of Capital Oil and Gas Industries Limited and Publisher of The AU­THORITY Newspapers, Chief Dr. Pat­rick Ifeanyi Ubah, has reaffirmed his unflinching support for the unity of the Igbos. Ubah said Ndi-Igbo should always stand firmly as one in or­der to enhance the socio-eco­nomic well-being of the Igbos and ensure overall national development.


Speaking at the Igbo Unity Day and Cultural Festival held in Lagos at the weekend, the oil magnet called on Igbo sons and daughters to put in more efforts to promoting the interests of the Igbo race.

His words: “To me as an individual, Igbo Unity has since gone beyond the realm of a catchphrase. In words and in actions, I stand firmly for Igbo Unity, be it in Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, the Diaspora and even our own South-Eastern states.”

Stressing and eulogisng the important and richness of Igbo culture, he said: “I feel proud and very happy to have been part of this epoch-making event which has ushered in a new dawn for Ndigbo. The beautiful display of our culture and heritage at the Igbo Unity Day and Cultural Fes­tival which we are proud to flaunt anywhere we find ourselves is a sincere reminder to all of the Igbo culture and its inherent unique­ness and value. The different masquerades from various local governments and villages in the South-East alongside the cultural groups who thrilled the massive crowd added so much elegance to the festival.”

Furthermore, Ubah ex­pressed his gratitude to all the sons and daughters of Igbo ex­traction who were present at the momentous event, especial­ly those who attended from out­side Lagos State.

While express his sincere gratitude to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos and the planning com­mittee for a successful and col­ourful festival, he commended the illustrious sons of Igboland who graced this maiden festival, especially the Former Gover­nor of Anambra State, Chief Dr. Chuk­wuemeka Ezeife (Okwadike); the Executive Chairman of Green­life Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Obiora Chukwuka; and the Chairman/CEO of Neros Pharmaceuticals, Dr. Poly Emenike.

Other prominent persons who attended the colourful event included Chief Okwy Okafor, Anambra Commissioner for Rural Development; Chief Ejiofor, National Vice President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide; Hon. Jude Idimogu, Member representing Oshodi/Isolo in the Lagos State House of Assembly, the various market leaders, State and Town Union leaders amongst a host of others. (Authority)
