VIEW OF A SON OF ENUGU WEST SENATORIAL DISTRICT
I have
been a beneficiary of Senator Ekweremadu's goodwill, starting from the bursary
award when was still in school down to grants for business development and
other things.
However,
that will not make me to see the truth and refuse to say it. We are in democratic
rule and I believe power is not meant for a particular person. Senator
Ike Ekweremadu has been in the Senate since 2003 and he has done well to me
and others, I don't know of you.
The
truth is that he has attained an enviable political height and has even earn
himself a good name globally to the extent that an American University
appointed him as a Professor. Not only that, he has many other honour to his

another person to continue from his good works. I bet you, it will not be easy
for Ekweremadu’s successor to attain his political height.
Now,
coming back to equity and fairness, UDI has not, even for once, produced a
Senator. So, we urge Ekweremadu to kindly step aside and give UDI his support. Like
I said before, it's going to be a big challenge to whomever that will succeed
him, but I see that capability in our own Chief
Sir O.A.U Onyema (Akpaagu Ikenja).
I have
known O.A.U for years now, even though we haven't worked directly and he does
not know me personal. In all the positions he has held so far, people always
speak well of him. And I believe so much that he can do much more than Senator
Ekweremadu.
If
Ekweremadu should, in the name of God, tell the people of Enugu West Senatorial
District the truth, Chief Sir OAU Onyema has sacrificed a lot for him right
from Sullivan Chime’s administration. OAU has stepped down for Ekweremadu twice
in senatorial primary elections and I see no reason why Ekweremadu won't support
the ambition of OAU. But like we all know, power intoxicates. Once you have
tasted power, you will not live to leave it. So, I know it will be hard for him
to step aside.
The
essence of this write-up is to tell our people of Enugu West Senatorial Districts
the sacrifices OAU has made for Ekweremadu over the years. In OAU I believe and
praying for God to make other people of Enugu West to believe too.
