Tectono

it was a colourful event attended by the Leader of Enugu State House of

Hon. Frank Ugwu; Party Chairmen, Sir Emma Chima; Ambassador Emma Ezeh; General
Godwin Ugwuoke (Rtd); Innocent Eze;

Prince
Dr. Emeka Mamah, who holds MBA from Manchester Business School and a Doctorate Degree from Irish Business School, was accompanied
by great sons of Udenu Local Government Area such as Onowu Ezimo and founder
Old Skool Generation Spot in National Stadium Lagos, Chief Osondu Ogbu; a political wordsmith and commentator, Hon. Onyekachi Ugwu; Akwudolueze Ezimo,
Obinna Ugwuanyi; and over 150 youths,
In his
speech, Dr. Mamah, a logistics and transport magnate, made his ambition to vie
for the House of Representatives seat contending that “what
our people needed is a representation that has a deep nexus with the people and
that which will through synergy with leaders address their local needs according
prevailing realities.”
Amidst
thunderous ovation, Prince Dr. Mama; a great philanthropist who has been
training indigent students in the universities, donating cash and gift item to
the widows, contributing to building of churches for God, establishing businesses
for people and financing priestly ordinations; made it clear that at a time
everyone looked up to leaders for direction and the society can ill afford any
leadership that operate from the high horse of classiness and classical
detachment from the very people it represents.
He
stated that by his home training he learnt early in life that one must always
have personal touch with his people as a way of reassuring them and raising
their bar of hope. He therefore concluded by saying that if given the mandate,
he would build on the impressive achievements by our performing Governor and
stakeholders to ensure that peace dominated every other consideration of the
stakeholders since it is only through peace that a common goal can be pursued
and achieved.
He averred
to always consult the leaders of the constituency on matters of determining
priority projects to better the lot of our people, tap into Ministries and
Agencies to secure for our teeming youth empowerment and employment.
On
legislation, Prince Dr. Mama; a celebrated business mogul with wealth of
experience, international exposure and connections; said that upon determining
the overriding interest of our people, he would pursue the gains of networking
among fellow legislators to side with legislations that would better the lots
of the people in his constituency. He underscored the place of horse trading,
influence peddling and friendship cutting across borders as his cardinal
consideration in securing a good deal for his people. At each turn, his speech was
interrupted with pulsating and encouraging ovation from the people of Udenu.
Responding
on behalf of Udenu People, the Leader of Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ike Ezeugwu, welcomed Prince
Mama and commended him on his undying love for the people of the constituency
and which has been the driving motive in his desire to serve. He added that
Udenu has a unique leadership disposition to wide consultation and as such the
people will always meet to take decisions and implement. He wished him well and
prayed God to bless his ambition..
Thereafter,
Prince Dr. Mamah; who is the Chairman of Destiny
Microfinance Bank Limited and who has paid his dues and distinguished himself
from egocentric, stingy and unscrupulous politicians; was led by his associates
in Udenu to a grand reception hosted for him by Udenu Youths at the Customary
Court premises, Obollo Afor where over two hundred young men and women were
waiting to receive him. It was a high point event where the youths prayed for
him and pledged their support. One of the leaders of the youths, Obinna Ugwuanyi, thanked Prince Mamah
for declaring his interest as the interest touched on the very poignant issue
of youth participation in politics.
He concluded
by saying that Udenu youths would not only give maximum support but would reach
out to their counterparts in Igbo Eze North to identify with the aspiration of
one of their own. In Dr. Emeka Mama, he said, the youths had found a say in a
matter that shapes their today and tomorrow
In Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, Tectono
Business Review gathered that the
business baron who also owns Grace Manor
Hotel and Suites, was well received. While speaking at the occasion, the Zonal
Chairman of PDP in Enugu North Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Michael Onyeze, extolled the comportment of Prince Dr. Emeka
Mamah as well as his burning desire for true representation.
Hon. Onyeze,
maintained that Prince Mamah, in his declaration of interest, was able to
showcase his manifesto as well as gaps to be filled rather than making
caricature of any person as others aspirants had been doing, adding that “the majority of the stakeholders in Igbo-Eze North today graduated
from the Royal Kingdom of late Igwe James Mamah whose goodwill and readiness to
help was legendary.”
In a
special way he thanked Prince Emeka for coming back to PDP because “his membership adds colour to the party and raises the bar
of active participation of the youths.” He further added that the
numbers of people from all walks of life, who accompanied Prince Emeka Mamah to
declare his interest showed that Emeka is “a political
asset that should be looked up to.” He added that it was high time the
council and the party to considered appreciating the late Igwe James Mamah for his numerous sacrifices for the entire
Enugu-Ezike people through his son.
Hon.
Onyeze however enjoined Prince Emeka Mamah to continue to pray to God, as God
alone gives power and authority. He concluded by advising him to have Option
"B" as politics has no definite assurance until the stakeholders/
party, blows their final whistle.
