The conference is being organised in partnership with Open Technology Foundation (Open Banking Nigeria), a non-governmental organisation backed by a group of industry experts across banking, fintech, risk management, and other financial services verticals working towards building a common standard for Open Banking APIs in Nigeria. The virtual event will commence at 10:30 a.m.

Why Open Banking Exchange (OBEx)?

Originally conceived as a way to ensure seamless, secure customer authentication during a transaction between authorised third-party providers (TPP) and banks, open banking has revolutionised the way customers experience financial services.

Are you aware that many #Nigerian #exporters have been defrauded in the process of #exporting their #products? To #export successfully and get paid, click: http://www.tectono-business.com/2016/02/contemporary-step-by-step-guide-to.html

More recently, the goal has shifted to creating a new ecosystem of banking that opens up banking data to make it easier for new players to enter the field, opening up competition, and creating new opportunities for financial innovation.

Essentially, open banking envisages that bank customers will be empowered to access and manage transactions on their accounts across various 3rd party providers and apps.

For this to occur, the 3rd parties require access to an application programming interface, that provides a standardized means of communicating with the bank or payment platform’s server to call up information necessary to close the transaction loop.
