AS A CHILD, MY FATHER DID NOT HAVE MONEY TO BUY ME A PAIR OF FOOTBALL BOOTS, SAYS GAUCHO RONALDINHO

An erstwhile world best footballer and Barcelona FC playmaker, Gaucho Ronaldinho, has revealed how poor the family he came from was before he made it big in football. According to him, his late father did not have money to buy him a pair of football boats and told him to it was better to master the ball barefoot.

In Ronaldinho’s own words, “My father told me that it was better to learn to master the ball barefoot to have sensitivity in the foot and I promised him that I would master that ball like no other, but what really happened was that he did not have money to buy me a pair of football boots. When I won my first golden ball, I did not cry with joy, I cried because I did not have my Father.”

Nobody that saw him wallowing in abject poverty with his parents would believe that he would be celebrated worldwide. This is another reason why no one should look down on anybody.
