United States presidential aspirant under the platform of Democratic Party, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has vowed to continuously back the United States dollar with Bitcoin if he is elected president.
The
renowned American environmental lawyer made this known while speaking at a July
19 Heal-the-Divide PAC event.
Kennedy
asserted that supporting the U.S. dollar with what he referred to as hard
currency such as gold, silver, platinum or Bitcoin could streamline the
re-stabilization the American economy.
He made
it clear that the process would be a gradual one, adding that he would adjust
the amount of backing for the dollar.
He
further stated that he would make Bitcoin to U.S. dollar conversions exempt
from capital gains taxes.
According
to him, the exemption would propel investment and boost companies to grow their
business in the U.S. instead of other crypto-friendly jurisdictions such as
Singapore or Switzerland.
We had
earlier published that Kennedy would accept political campaign donations in
Bitcoin.
