CHIDOZIE UGWOKE PASSES SURCON PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION, AWAITS INDUCTION IN FEBRUARY, 2017

A Surveyor and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of United Geodetic Services, Chidozie Ugwoke, has passed the Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON) 2016 Professional Examination. The Council, which was established by CAP S18 Law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2004, approved the result at its 76th meeting which was held on Thursday, 8th of December, 2016.

According to Chidozie who spoke with Tectono Business Review, the examination is for the registration of surveyors in Nigeria as Associate Members. He said that the journey started just few years after his NYSC programme as a pupilage surveyor for two years under a supervisor. He had to write and defend five tedious projects to pass the examination which required both theory and field experience.

The amazing thing is that many pupilage surveyors have sat for the same examination excess of five times without success but he sat for it only once. He attributes his success to hard work, discipline and God’s grace.

Chidozie who stated that his success in the examination would soon usher in his professional growth expressed his happiness over becoming a fully registered Surveyor of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He made it clear that after his induction in February, 2017, he would go into full time contract with the major oil companies and both federal and state governments.
