Our correspondent was at Birrel Avenue in Sabo, beside Chief Magistrate Court, Yaba and was shocked to discover that many Nigerians still use Typewriters in typing affidavits, writs and other legal documents. He counted more than fifteen canopies where typewriter operators were operating and surrounded by each typewriter were lawyers who brought one or two manuscripts to be typed.

This is very amazing and hard to believe. In this digital age that virtually all and sundry have access to computers that Nigerian lawyers still reduce themselves to the level of using that rubbish. Is it that there are law firms that are so poor that they cannot afford at least a desktop and a printer? Are we moving forward or backward in this country?
