IFESINACHI GROUP BOSS, PRINCE DR. EMEKA MAMAH, DECLARES FOR HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ifesinachi Group of Companies, Prince Dr. Emeka Mamah, has declared his interest to represent Udenu/Igbo-Eze North Federal Constituency in the House of Representative come 2019. The declaration was made in the two councils that make up the constituency.

Tectono Business Review gathered that in Udenu Local Government Area, it was a colourful event attended by the Leader of Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ike Ezeugwu; Executive Chairman Udenu Local Government, Chief Hon. Frank Ugwu; Party Chairmen, Sir Emma Chima; Ambassador Emma Ezeh; General Godwin Ugwuoke (Rtd); Innocent Eze; Sir Emma Eze; Erstwhile State Officer of PDP, Meletus Onah; Zonal PDP Financial Secretary, Chief Hon. James Ugwu; all party local government working committee, ward chairmen, secretaries, women and youth leaders, all councilors, all supervisors, all the newly appointed development centre administrators and a great deal of party supporters.

Prince Dr. Emeka Mamah, who holds MBA from Manchester Business School and a Doctorate Degree from Irish Business School, was accompanied by great sons of Udenu Local Government Area such as Onowu Ezimo and founder Old Skool Generation Spot in National Stadium Lagos, Chief Osondu Ogbu; a political wordsmith and commentator, Hon. Onyekachi Ugwu; Akwudolueze Ezimo, Obinna Ugwuanyi; and over 150 youths,

In his speech, Dr. Mamah, a logistics and transport magnate, made his ambition to vie for the House of Representatives seat contending that “what our people needed is a representation that has a deep nexus with the people and that which will through synergy with leaders address their local needs according prevailing realities.”

Amidst thunderous ovation, Prince Dr. Mama; a great philanthropist who has been training indigent students in the universities, donating cash and gift item to the widows, contributing to building of churches for God, establishing businesses for people and financing priestly ordinations; made it clear that at a time everyone looked up to leaders for direction and the society can ill afford any leadership that operate from the high horse of classiness and classical detachment from the very people it represents.

He stated that by his home training he learnt early in life that one must always have personal touch with his people as a way of reassuring them and raising their bar of hope. He therefore concluded by saying that if given the mandate, he would build on the impressive achievements by our performing Governor and stakeholders to ensure that peace dominated every other consideration of the stakeholders since it is only through peace that a common goal can be pursued and achieved.

He averred to always consult the leaders of the constituency on matters of determining priority projects to better the lot of our people, tap into Ministries and Agencies to secure for our teeming youth empowerment and employment.

On legislation, Prince Dr. Mama; a celebrated business mogul with wealth of experience, international exposure and connections; said that upon determining the overriding interest of our people, he would pursue the gains of networking among fellow legislators to side with legislations that would better the lots of the people in his constituency. He underscored the place of horse trading, influence peddling and friendship cutting across borders as his cardinal consideration in securing a good deal for his people. At each turn, his speech was interrupted with pulsating and encouraging ovation from the people of Udenu.

Responding on behalf of Udenu People, the Leader of Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ike Ezeugwu, welcomed Prince Mama and commended him on his undying love for the people of the constituency and which has been the driving motive in his desire to serve. He added that Udenu has a unique leadership disposition to wide consultation and as such the people will always meet to take decisions and implement. He wished him well and prayed God to bless his ambition..

Thereafter, Prince Dr. Mamah; who is the Chairman of Destiny Microfinance Bank Limited and who has paid his dues and distinguished himself from egocentric, stingy and unscrupulous politicians; was led by his associates in Udenu to a grand reception hosted for him by Udenu Youths at the Customary Court premises, Obollo Afor where over two hundred young men and women were waiting to receive him. It was a high point event where the youths prayed for him and pledged their support. One of the leaders of the youths, Obinna Ugwuanyi, thanked Prince Mamah for declaring his interest as the interest touched on the very poignant issue of youth participation in politics.

He concluded by saying that Udenu youths would not only give maximum support but would reach out to their counterparts in Igbo Eze North to identify with the aspiration of one of their own. In Dr. Emeka Mama, he said, the youths had found a say in a matter that shapes their today and tomorrow

In Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area, Tectono Business Review gathered that the business baron who also owns Grace Manor Hotel and Suites, was well received. While speaking at the occasion, the Zonal Chairman of PDP in Enugu North Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Michael Onyeze, extolled the comportment of Prince Dr. Emeka Mamah as well as his burning desire for true representation.

Hon. Onyeze, maintained that Prince Mamah, in his declaration of interest, was able to showcase his manifesto as well as gaps to be filled rather than making caricature of any person as others aspirants had been doing, adding that “the majority of the stakeholders in Igbo-Eze North today graduated from the Royal Kingdom of late Igwe James Mamah whose goodwill and readiness to help was legendary.”

In a special way he thanked Prince Emeka for coming back to PDP because “his membership adds colour to the party and raises the bar of active participation of the youths.” He further added that the numbers of people from all walks of life, who accompanied Prince Emeka Mamah to declare his interest showed that Emeka is “a political asset that should be looked up to.” He added that it was high time the council and the party to considered appreciating the late Igwe James Mamah for his numerous sacrifices for the entire Enugu-Ezike people through his son.

Hon. Onyeze however enjoined Prince Emeka Mamah to continue to pray to God, as God alone gives power and authority. He concluded by advising him to have Option "B" as politics has no definite assurance until the stakeholders/ party, blows their final whistle.
