Folks, these are the words of an
erstwhile national legal adviser to the All Progressives’ Congress, Dr. Muiz Banire. He made this assertion while reacting to the
objection to his nomination as chairman of Assets
Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) by three senators representing
Lagos State. It can be recalled that Dr. Banire was a commissioner for
Environment in Lagos State for eight years under the administration of Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN).
Come to think of this. Has Dr.
Banire parted ways with the national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu? Why should all the three Lagos senators, who
are very loyal to Tinubu, oppose Banire’s nomination?
Tectono Business Review gathered that Dr. Banire
contested the 2015 Lagos State APC governorship primary election and lost to
the incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
He felt cheated and was planning to take a legal action against the outcome of
the primary election when Tinubu approached him and an agreement was reached that
he would accept the outcome of the primary and be made the national legal
adviser of the great political party.
