FROM THE ARCHBISHOP’S DESK

CELEBRATION OF THE SUNDAY OF THE WORD OF GOD: The celebration of the Sunday of the Word of God for this year comes up on Sunday, January 24, 2021. On this day, we shall have the Enthronement of the Word of God in all the parishes in the Archdiocese. Hence, we direct that all priests should begin to sensitize the faithful about this special Sunday and the prominence of the Word of God in the Life of the Christian.

This group will liaise/work with the new parish priest till he forms the parish pastoral and finance councils.

PARISH PRIEST’S FAREWELL MASS: Thursday’s morning mass will be the parish priest’s last mass here with us. This will be his farewell mass before moving to St. Augustine’s College of Education, Akoka.

CATECHISM CLASSES: Catechism classes are already in progress. Catechumen who have not joined are free to do so. Parents and guardians are encouraged to allow their wards to come for the catechism.

DEVELOPMENT/PROJECT COLLECTION: Next Sunday; January 24, 2021; is our parish development/project collection Sunday. Parishioners are encouraged to donate generously N1,000; N500; or N200 towards this development.

INFANT BAPTISM: Parishioners who want their children to be baptized on the first week of February should pick the baptism form from the Parish Catechist. Baptismal instruction will hold on January 30, 2021.

Parishioners are also encouraged to redeem their commitment pledge by installments with the Parish Finance team at the basement of the church at the end of every Mass. May God bless you as you do so. Amen.
