Toni
Pyne plays a midfielder for the Super Falcons Of Nigeria. She is a member of
the #SuperFalcons squad representing Nigeria at the ongoing #ParisOlympics2024.
She started the opener against the Samba Girls of Brazil where #Nigeria lost by
one goal to nothing.
Toni
Pyne was among Nigerian players who contributed to the loss of the match. Honestly,
I do not know why she is still a member of the #Super #Falcons. As an attacking
midfielder, she cannot make accurate passes, she cannot dribble, she cannot
play shot on target.
So, of
what use was starting her in an #olympicgames opener that Nigerian needed to
win. In view of her acute incompetence, the #sambagirls of #Brazil dominated in
the first 75 minutes of the game. All she knows how to do is to speak American
English.
The
popular Martha of Brazil was the one in charge of the midfielder in the first
75 minutes. She had a free day. She ensured that the #samba #Girls were always
with ball via accurate ball distribution.
One of
her passes precipitated a chance which was converted by her teammate. It
continued like this until Toni Pyne and her three other colleges were pulled
out.
Uchenna
Kanu, Esther Okoronkwo, Toni Pyne's younger sister called Nicole Pyne, and
Ifeoma Onumonu came in. Those changes changed the game. Deborah Abiodun
regained what she has always been known for as a midfield machine.
Brazil's
Martha was nowhere to be found again. Nigeria dominated in the match from the
75th minute untill the last whistle was blown. Unfortunately, the needed
equalizer could not come.
The
team"s captain, Rasheedat Ajibade was at her best. If the coach had
started the match with those players she brought in towards the end, Nigeria
would have won the match. If Esther Okoronkwo had started that match as the top
striker, she would have converted those chances foolishly wasted by Chinwendu
Ihezuo.
Why is
Esther Onyenezide not in this squad? She is far better than Toni Pyne. Honestly,
I blame the coach for that loss.
