ADDRESSING FUTURE CHALLENGES OF THE ENERGY SECTOR – THE RENEWABLE PATH

Finding alternatives to hydrocarbon based energy supply systems has become a matter of economic and environmental expediency. Nigerian’s huge reserves of oil and gas have been the basis for fiscal plans and objectives.

In view of the current realities of falling oil prices and global concerns for the environment, there is need for a shift in focus to renewable energy and its penetration in relevant sectors of the economy.

In this regard, the Petroleum Technology Development Fund in collaboration with Cranfield University, London, will be hosting a gathering of experts from Nigeria and abroad to address future challenges of the energy sector; the renewable path. This is at a seminar/lecture programme scheduled as follows:

Date
Monday, February 29, 2016

Time
11am

Venue
PTDF Tower, Plot 1058 Memorial Drive, Opposite Yar’adua Centre, Central Business District.

The Seminar will be attended by Representatives of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Department of Petroleum Resources, Nigerian National petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), the Energy Commission, and PTDF ex-Scholars
