The Executive Chairman of Tectono Ventures Limited,
Chief Ugwokeh Nnaemeka, has explained that the act of confessing one’s sins to Roman Catholic priests was started by some ancient masers as a ploy to identify thieves among their servants.

The Tectono boss made this known on a post on his Facebook page.

“As I became older, I discovered that confession started so many years ago as a ploy by some #ancient #masters to identify thieves among their servants. The roman catholic adopted it,” he wrote.

He equally went ahead to explain how he started from childhood to question the act of confessing one’s sins to a fellow human being who even commit more grievous sins than he does.

He wrote, “From childhood, I have always questioned going for #confession by the #roman #catholics.

“Owing to its prerequisite for receiving #first #communion after finishing my #catechism classes, I confessed my sins to my fellow human being.

“As I became an adult, I continued to wonder why I should keep on confessing my sins to people who commit more grievous sins than I do.

“I have never terminated #pregnancy, I have neither slept with a #married #woman nor #reverend #sisters, I have never diverted money belonging to the church into personal use.”

The Okemmadu of Kabong concluded by sounding a note of warning to all catholics that going for confession does not precipitate the forgiveness of any sin, adding that one must suffer for his or her sin either in this contemporary incarnation or others.

In his own words, “Only a fool will believe that after going for confession and making the given prayers, his confessed sins are forgiven.

“Any sin you commit, you must suffer for it either in this #incarnation or subsequent ones whether you confess it to a #reverend #father or not. #Karma is real.”
