EXPORT COUNCIL PARTNERS WITH EXPORT & SELL NIG LTD TO BOOST NON-OIL EXPORTS TO UNITED STATES

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has partnered with Export and Sell Nigeria Limited to boost the exports of non-oil products from the country to the United States.

Hmmm!!! Folks, let us say the truth and shame the #devil. Many #Nigerian #non-oil products #exporters have been defrauded of huge amount of #money in the process of #exporting #agricultural #commodities and solid #minerals to #foreign #countries. Do you know why? They were not trained on #export #operations, #management, #documentations and the best methods of #payment in export #trade. This is terrible!!! Nigerians cannot continue to lose money to #foreigners in the course of export #business. Exporters, would you like to keep on being scammed? Why don’t you get a practical manual that explains the stages of export trade from processing and #packaging of commodities to receipt of payment by the foreign buyers? It explains export operations, export management, export documentations and methods of payment in export trade? Yes, it is a #contemporary step-by-step #guide to export trade. It tells all the contemporary dynamics in export trade. To get it, click on this link: http://www.tectono-business.com/2016/02/contemporary-step-by-step-guide-to.html

The Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEPC, Olusegun Awolowo, who inaugurated the company’s Amazon Export Warehouse in Lagos on Monday, said the initiative would enable Small and Medium Enterprises to sell on the e-commerce platform and boost the country’s foreign exchange earnings.

“We want to explore the opportunities for non-oil exports in terms of production and value addition while easing the burden of logistics, storage, freight and market access for our exporters, especially the SMEs.

“Getting on Amazon platform is a very tricky and delicate process because you don’t want your goods to be rejected. So, there is a lot of training and certification that goes into it for you to be able to put your goods on that platform. The more MSMEs we put on the platform, the better it is for Nigerian entrepreneurs and the country,” he said.

The Chief Executive Officer of Export and Sell, Mr. Nduka Udeh, said his company applied for a grant under the government’s Export Expansion Facility Programme and got it, adding that the process proved the transparency and willingness of the NEPC to push the scheme of expanding the non-oil export sector.

According to him, the Amazon Export Warehouse is currently processing about  N40m monthly in shipping receipts with goods valued at about N200m being exported through the warehouse monthly.

“This is only the beginning, and we are already making headway in fully utilising the 50 per cent of the fund already provided by the NEPC to achieve the goal of an export training portal, an Amazon training portal and an FDA filling portal,” he said.

Udeh said the company would train 600 to 1,000 SMEs this month on how to export to the US and sell on Amazon.

“With the plan we have, we estimate that Nigerian SMEs can generate about $20m (N10bn) monthly by selling on Amazon. This is a conservative estimate that represents just 0.06 per cent of the monthly sales on Amazon.

“If Nigeria with its vast resource and capabilities in fashion, woodwork, furniture, leather, art and craft, cosmetics and beauty products, packaged foods, pet products, building materials and health and supplements and a lot more can hit just one per cent of the sales on Amazon, this will represent $330m in monthly forex revenue to the country, which is a far cry from our projected $20m in sales by end of 2022,” he said.
