UNCOMPLETED ENSUBEB PROJECTS: GOV. UGWUANYI VOWS TO DEAL WITH ALL CONTRACT CROOKS

Rt. Hon. Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Enugu State Governor
Tectono Business Review gathered that the Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has threatened to deal with all contract crooks who have contributed to the deplorable conditions of some primary schools under the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB).

Gburugburu, as the governor is fondly called, read the riot act when an eight-member administrative committee for the completion of the State Universal Basic Education Board projects was inaugurated at the Government House, Enugu. According to him, the inauguration of the committee became necessary owing to the disgraceful, awful and appalling state of such schools in the state.

The visibly angry governor expressed his sadness over the situations which have disrupted the conducive learning environment that would have been available for the pupils. He guaranteed to take disciplinary action against any such contractor or official of the government at the end of the present probe into what has gone wrong in the system.

Tectono Business Review can recall that the immediate past Enugu House of Assembly Committee on Education probed into what led to the abandonment of the ENSUBEB project and discovered that the immediate past Chief of Staff, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo, single-handedly awarded the contract to an Enugu base firm and the money running into billions of naira was shared. So, what is the need of beating about the bush? We already know the contract crooks.
