BEN AKABUEZE BECOMES THE DIRECTOR GENERAL, BUDGET OFFICE

Report reaching Tectono Business Review has it that the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Budget Matters who doubles as former Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Ben Akabueze, has been appointed the new Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation. He swapped position with Alhaji Tijani Abdullahi, who was also named the new Special Adviser to the President on Planning.

As at the time of filling this report, no reason was given for the new development. According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, Alhaji Abdullah will continue to work with the Minister of Budget and National Planning.

It could be recalled that both Akabueze and Abdullahi joined the Ministry of Budget and National Planning in February this year. We gathered that swapping their positions was part of an ongoing exercise aimed at further repositioning the Ministry to effectively deliver on its core mandate.
