We wish to draw the attention of members of the public to circulation of some fake letters of confirmation, verification, authorization and other sundry documents purportedly emanating from the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC) granting permission to some nondescript entities to buy and sell Nigerian Light Crude.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC) wishes to state without equivocation that such letters are fake and clearly the products of some fraudsters desperate to extort money from unsuspecting corporate entities and members of the public.

We call on the general public not only to disregard the fraudulent documents in circulation but to be wary and meticulous in treating all documents claiming to emanate from the NNPC.
