THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE LEFT AND RIGHT LUNGS

Right lung is wider and shorter whereas left lung is narrower and longer.
 
Right lung consists of three lobes whereas left lung consists of two lobes.
 
The anterior border of right lung is straight while that of the lung consists of a deep cardiac notch.
 
Right lung is situated on the right side of the respiratory system while left lung is situated on the left side of the respiratory system.
 
Right lung is conclave while left lung is less-conclave than the right lung.
 
Right lung is heavy while left lung is light.
 
Right lung has one horizontal fissure and one oblique fissure whereas left lung has one oblique fissure.
 
Right lung weighs 700gm while left lung weighs 650gm
 
Right lung provides space for liver while the left lung provides space for the heart.
 
Right lung has two bronchi while left lung has a single bronchus.
