WHAT ARE MORPHOLOGICAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE MATURE PROGLOTTIDS OF DIPYLIDIUM CANINUM AND HYMENOLEPIS SPP?

Size of mature proglottids of dipylidium caninus is 12mm long and 3mm wide whereas the size of mature proglottids of hymenilepis spp is 0.2 - 0.8mm long and 0.8 – 4mm wide
 
In the uterus, mature proglottids of dipylidium caninus is pumpkin-shaped and tappers at each end whereas mature proglottids of hymenilepis spp is broader and long in the uterus.
 
Mature proglottids of dipylidium caninus may be passed singly or in chains whereas mature proglottids of hymenilepis spp usually disintegrates in the intestines tract
 
Mature proglottids of dipylidium caninus are often resembles rice grain found in stools whereas mature proglottids of hymenilepis spp are rarely seen in stools.
