A few weeks ago, NGO SOSUIBEN, an open international humanitarian organization with deep roots in recent African humanitarian missions in several countries that provides education and health solutions to children and less privileged people in Africa, signed a partnership deal with another humanitarian organization, Charity DAO, which coordinates efforts and problem solving around crypto and blockchain applications for charitable giving.
The partnership with Charity DAO and
drive by SOSUIBEN towards providing shelter, education and access to healthcare
for the less-privileged became imperative because in Africa, there are several
millions of children without homes, education and access to medication in the
streets facing harsh environments that need maximum support.
Since the inception of the NGO
SOSUIBEN in the African continent, plus other humanitarian organizations out
there, we can see a more clear future for all the victims of poverty and less
improvised communities. Children and women may now stand a better chance at
having better homes and quality education which may have been a far cry for
their goals in the past
While speaking with AFRICUNIA TV, the founder of NGO
SOSUIBEN, Madeleine Winkler, explained
the vision and trajectory of her humanitarian organization and also the
partnership deal with Charity DAO.
She said, “My name is Madeleine Winkler. I am the Founder of
SOSUIBEN and SOSUIBEN is the abbreviation of Solidarity Swiss Benson. That
means Solidarity Switzerland Benson. SOSUIBEN Foundation is the foundation that
was founded in 2008 in Switzerland and we are into humanitarian projects. These
projects go from water projects to renewable energies, children, orphans and
street children and much more.”
She made it clear that SOSUIBEN
is unique owing to the fact that it focuses on long-term projects. In addition
to that her team members give their best to all their projects.
“What is special about us is that
we do not have short-period projects. Normally, our projects go for years.
Another spectacular thing is that 100 percent of our team members arrive when
needed. So, everybody is working and as volunteers, nobody takes salary and the
travels are sponsored by the board,” she said.
Speaking on the goals and vision
of SOSUOBEN, she said that her organization aims to be voice of the voiceless
that ensures the well-being of the less-privileged.
She said, “The main goal is to
help, to be the voice of the voiceless and the less privileged people,
especially the youth and vulnerable people. The vision is really big. In fact,
we like to see to it that no child is in a situation where abuse is possible,
no child should be hungry, and every child should have education and access to
healthcare and so on. So, these are our objectives.”
Talking about the trajectory of
the humanitarian organization and partnership with Charity DAO, she said, “Our
focus in 2008 was in Central Africa Republic. Then, we moved to Congo. We had a
small project in Cameroon and for two years now, we have been in Nigeria.
Actually, we have a partnership deal with Charity DAO and they wanted us to
reach out as they know that we are into childcare, especially in orphanages and
that we have our own centres in different countries and they can reach out to
us if we can do something in Nigeria and that is what we have started from
today.”
