AFRICUNIA BANK,
a decentralized, distributed, adaptive, open socio-technical financial ecosystem
with properties of self-organization, scalability and sustainability where healthy
competition and collaboration among diverse businesses, people and entities
prevail, has sealed a partnership deal with New Dawn Humanitarian Foundation, a non-governmental organization
that works regionally in the fields of agriculture, education, business
operations, youth empowerment and general services.
AFRICUNIA TV
gathered that the aims of partnership are to work together on AFRICUNIA BANK/SPARCO
BANK Agricultural Grant Project which supports local farmers in Nigeria,
training, seminars, education and micro/macro business empowerment; promote
AFRICUNIA BANK and its various sister companies across Nigeria; drive millions
of userbase to AFRICUNIA BANK and its sister subsidiaries’ platforms; economically
empower New Dawn Humanitarian Foundation through sustainable grants and aiding
its business proposals financially.
Speaking after the signing the
memorandum of understanding by the two organizations which took place on 13th
day of May 2022 at AFRICUNIA BANK’s Nigeria office at 18, Ibikunle Street, Off
Unilag Road, Yaba, Lagos, one of the representatives of New Dawn Humanitarian
Foundation, Comrade Onwubuya Ugo Kinsley
expressed his gratitude to both AFRICUNIA BANK and SPARCO BANK for bringing
such an opportunity to Nigeria and Africa at large.
He said, “Well I feel very happy
for this great opportunity from AFRICUNIA BANK and SPARCO BANK because it is a
great honour to Nigerians and by the grace of God, I believe that Nigerians are
going to benefit much. Agricultural sector in Nigeria is a very important
sector that most of us have abandoned. We overlook the issue of agriculture.
So, I am much happy to see AFRICUNIA BANK attracting the attention of SPARCO
BANK to Nigeria and Africa at large, especially on agricultural sector. I feel
so much happy.”
Comrade Onwubuya made it clear
that everything has been put in place by his organization for the grants to
reach excess of 50 million farmers all over Nigeria.
In his own words, “By the grace
of God, we just signed the MOU. Even before signing the MOU, we had reached out
to our coordinators and representatives all over the country and on our own, we
have mapped out strategies on how to reach these farmers and by the grace of
God, reaching the farmers is not an issue because we are close to them already
and we want to assure you that we are looking forward to have 50 million
farmers and above and as much as we can be able to reach.
“I believe this is one of the
things that Nigerians are looking for to have and we are not calling them to
bring in what they have. We are calling them to come and receive what we have
for them to expand whatever they are doing in agriculture.”
In her own speech, another
representative of the foundation, Becky James, said, “The name of the
organization is New Dawn Humanitarian Foundation. Basically, the organization
is to partner with the federal government in order to take care of the
less-privileged in the society, especially in the area of providing them with
basic needs and to ensure that the less-privileged in the society are well
taken care of because in most cases, they are neglected and most of them are
found in the rural areas and this is what New Dawn Humanitarian Foundation
stands for. To go down to the rural communities and to attend to whatever their
needs are and how to see that they can meet up with whatever that is going on
in the urban setting”
