In the review of the year 2015, it has become imperative for the management and entire staff of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) to appreciate persons, entities and stakeholders that we believe contributed to ensuring that we delivered our mandate as an interventionist agency to the best of our abilities.

First and foremost, while acknowledging the seamless and peaceful transition of power in May, 2015, we use this opportunity to thank the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR), for supporting us and creating the enabling environment for us to consolidated on our mandate of providing interventions that have helped in transforming our Public Tertiary Institutions across the country.

We use this opportunity to assure Mr. President that we are determined to be more innovative and creative in partnering with the Regulatory Agencies in the education sub-sector, being the National University Commission, National Board for Tertiary Education and National Commission for Colleges of Education to revitalize and make our Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education improve on their global ranking and contribute to Nigerian economy more competitive.

Secondly, we use this opportunity to assure the Honourable Minister of Education, the Honourable Minister of State for Education, the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFund and the House of Representative Committee on Tertiary Education and Services, that we are going into the New Year with the resolve on our public acknowledged achievements in Federal and State Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education in this country.

Thirdly, we also use this opportunity to assure lecturers and students of public tertiary institutions that we shall do whatever is possible including listening to their suggestions and criticisms, to make Tertiary Education Trust Fund even more responsive to their expectations of us in the new Year and beyond so that together we could witness the desired positive change necessary to place teachers and students as top priority in our intervention projects.

Finally, we look forward to working with existing and prospective local and international partners who are ready to join us in realizing the vision of Mr. President that education and particularly science and technology, must shape and drive our nation’s dream for self actualization with less emphasis on exhaustible resources and more emphasis on the most dependable being human resources.
