GOV. UGWUANYI PROMISES TO MAKE ENUGU CIVIL SERVICE A REFERENCE POINT

The Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has given civil servants in the state the assurance that his government was prepared to implement holistic and inclusive development, as he promised during his pre-election campaigns.

Chief Ugwuanyi, who was ably represented by his deputy, Hon. Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, made this known in an address during the grand finale of the state 2015 civil service celebration at Michael Okpara Square, Enugu.

Gburugburu, as the governor is popularly known as, noted that he would like to see a civil service where discipline, commitment, efficiency, transparency and altruism would reign supreme, stressing that that his utmost desire was to build a civil service that would be a reference point for its contemporaries which would give the people of the state a new lease of life in terms of quality and efficiency of service.

Governor Ugwuanyi, who is the immediate past Chairman of the House of Representatives Committees on Marine Transport, stated that his administration would not be able to do much without the co-operation and participation of civil servants in the state.

He further said that issues affecting the welfare and comfort of civil servants were of utmost importance to his administration and also charged them to join hands with his administration in bringing the state civil service to proposed international standard.
