GODWIN OBASEKI IS A UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN GRADUATE, SAYS THE UNIVERSITY’S REGISTRAR

The University of Ibadan has confirmed that the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, passed through its walls and earned a first degree in Classics.

The University’s clarification became imperative owing to allegations that the governor, who is currently running for a second term in office in September, did not complete a first degree at the prestigious institution.

According to the university, in a statement, Godwin Obaseki gained admission in 1976 and graduated in 1979 with a Second Class Honours, Lower Division. “Records of his admission and graduation are intact in the archives of the university,” the statement, signed by the University’s registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Faluyi, added.
