The Prime
Minister of Japan, Fumio Kishida, has stated that the country’s comprehensive
annual policy blueprint includes measures that prioritize user protection while
contemporaneously enhancing the environment for the utilization of Web3 tokens.
The essence
of this move is to reinvigorate the content industry and marks a significant
step in Japan’s digital transformation journey.
The Prime
Minister made this announcement during a video broadcast at the WebX conference
in Tokyo.
This further
cements the Liberal Democratic Party’s support for Web3.
According to
him, Web3 is part of the new form of capitalism and a reference to his flagship
economic policy designed to stimulate growth and wealth distribution through a
focus on innovation, start-ups, and digital transformation.
He hinted
at an ambitious large-scale project by a major Japanese company that will
establish a valuable economic zone in the metaverse.
Looking
ahead, the future of Web3 in Japan appears bright.
